In Loving Memory Of Minka

Our hearts are broken and our tears have fallen for the loss of our beautiful sweet cat that has been our family friend for over 15 years. She was my daughter's first addition to her new marriage. She was a lovely , shiny, big black cat with reen eyes. She took lovely pictures and her eyes lit up so green. In her early years she was very independent and kept mostlt to herself. I respected that and then later she loved all of the attention she could get . When I visited at her new house, she greeted me so sweetly, meowing and purring. She spent most of her years at my daughter's old home place, and Minka, that is her name, welcomed my daughter's first newborn daughter. My son in law loved Minka so much and their daughter grew up with her. She spent so many Christmases, and all the holidays with a full bowl of special cat food and other goodies. She went through many seasons, many cold, cold winters, and many lovely hot summer days. She enjoyed going all around the yard and lyin on the porch. She dearly loved her family. Truly "Minka" was a family member and will be missed as such. Last year her health began to get down and they took her to the vet. I guess she was just tired sometimes, but she tried till the end to be herself. Shewas moved to their new home recently and Minka was a Little disraught and wary of the new place. She hid out somewhere for about a week and we worried so much..One day she came home. How happy we were|....Then after that she settled down and stayed a lot in the good warm 'down under the house'. My daughter told me last night Minka was very sick. I prayed for her. She was one of God's special creatures. But Minka was weakened and today My daughter told me she had passed on. I cried for I will miss her when I come by and I won"t hear her meow or see her lovely face. The Lord gives us these special pets to help us have a friend. Minka will be buried at her old homeplace because it seems like her real first home and she will be sadly missed by all of the family. Goodbye sweet Minka we will keep you in our hearts......Forever

I have seen the ocean

It has been a while but I visited the ocean and Myrtle Beach. We rented an efficiency apartment, the Montego Inn. It wasa very windy week and when we opened the front door all of the curtains blew out on the back patio. At late evenin the waves lappedup on the shore and retaining walls and all night I listened to the waves, sometimes reaching 20 ft. or more. In the morning the sun was up and the ocean was quiet and the beach reached out very far and the waves moved slowly and moved over my feet. The sea gulls shrieked and flew about hunting fish and shells were everywhere on the sandy beach..As I looked far out unto the ocean line, it was hard for me to comphrend such vastness. How far it actually went and I could only see the sunset AND the ocean's line. It was almost like"where is the ocean?'
" You can only see so far. I would like to take a cruise next time. We got a lovely tan and we cooked in the little apartment. We shoppedat a local grocery store and we visited Ripleys and many restaurants. The bar was opened alnite. I did not go there but Tommy did. All in all I prefer our mountains, but I loved the visit and want to go again soon. There are so many beautiful places that I have not seen, but I have seen the ocean and it was very beautiful. ..... ..............................................................................

Valentine's Day 2009

The word "Valentine" is defined as a greeting card or note sent to a real or pretended sweetheart on thisday and containing lines of sentimental love. To me a valentine is a beautiful card all decked out in red with hearts and lace and lots of love splashed all over. As a child Valentine's Day was so excitin I could barely contain myself, gathering my cards and planning who should get which. I just knew each person would be as happy to receive as I was to give them..Though I never really knew what some of them thought, especially the boys. I always hoped I would get a special valentine from a secret admirer, but I never did. When I started datin, I began to receive lots of roses and candy, but when I got married in 1978 I really found my special lifetime Valentine. He was really handpicked by the Lord himself to become the father of my two daughters and one son. He always gives me candy and cards, but most of all he shows his love all year by being there for me. He ismy Knight in shining armour and my rock to stand on and I love my big handsome Valentine...My other special valentines are my 5 children and my 11 grandchildren. They show me love all through the year. I also have four very special sons-in-law whom are very caring. I have other valentines whom have gone on to be with the Lord, my Mom and Dad and sister and brothers and many others..they hold a specialplace in my heart. Some valentines are lovely, some are funny, some are cute but the ones that are special are filled with love and x's and 0's. Happy Valentine's Day 2009

Burr...Burr..Cold

This morning I awakened at 4;30 am. David is starting a new job so I got up with him. Now let me tell you it is so cold my back door didn't want to open. And Lincoln went out and straight back inside..My goodness the floor even screaks as I walked on it. I think it was frozen (I really doubt it). Outside my car door is frozen. The outside dogs are snuggled inside their houses and the birds are not singing. When I was a little girl the earth stayed frozen like this all winter and now we think this is not the norm. We also had lots of snow and we always had our boots handy. Now the kids rarely wear a coat. Trevez goes without a shirt in the house when I am chilling.....oh well.these young people do not have a built in thermastat. When I was small our house was colder and now everything is pleasant. I wanted snow for the holidays and didn't get any so now I am learnin that snow comes after December..But now folks think this weather is rare, but really it is called..WINTER....Burr..Burrr..Burr We can think back to the hot weather we had last summer, and we were dissatified with this too. It is human nature to want things perfect, but we must take the bitter with the sweet. Bundle up folks and get out your gloves and scarves and boots and keep the hot cocoa brewing....you are going to need all of this. In the meantime I will go get my good ole hot cup of coffee, snuggle up with my puppy "avery" and let Lincoln keep my feet warm as I sit here and play my favorite games and await the light of day....Stay Warm and Enjoy Winter.

.....................My two boys

I have two little boys. One is white and the other is brown. One is big and the other is little. One is fiesty and the other is laid back. Sometimes they fight and sometimes they sleep near. One is named Lincoln and the other is Avery. Well let me tell you about the little one...from the start he was given by a person driving by on the street..He was so little he would fit in your hand...such a cute baby.......At home my Lincoln was already settled in and then his brother came. Boy was he jealous, growling at him. The baby has always acted like a big boy except when he ets sleepy and then he has to crawl inside my hoodie and snuggle inside..He has began to nibble on me and bite my hair and he even climbs up on my head...he has scratchy nails................................Ok, now you must know by now these boys are my doggies. One is a minature something or other and the other is a laso alpso..One is snow white and the other is brown with little white boots..These boys rule. From 5;30 in the AM till 11 at night they are going strong. The puppy carries toys around and entices Lincoln to play. He grumbles and growls and takes off running, but sometimes he acts like a grandpa. They really are like children..They are due a bubble bath. They really love a bath..The puppy "Avery" eats till his little belly looks like a balloon, but he runs it off soon. I tell Lincoln to "Be nice to your little brother. He is trying. The other day their cousin "Brayden" came to visit and Avery went bezerk. He caused Brayden to hop up in the air like a bunny and run and scamper so cute. Then Avery at scared and hid up in my lap..Lincoln thought they were both stupid. As we speak Avery has someones shoe over there running with it and Lincoln is keepin a watch over him...............See Ya Later Me and my boys

My doggie and my dollies

When I was a little girl I loved my dolls. Well, they were my babies really. I really remember one doll named Diane and she ate with me, I mean she endedup with mashed potatoes all over her mouth and got scolded for being messy. She was my baby and I put her to sleep every night after a warm bath and a good hair brushing. My friend Loretta and I both carried our babies around and when we were in school and Loretta went back to Michigan, after a summer of fun, I would write her and ask about her baby and I would tell her, my "Diane" was sick with a cold. What fun it was. Over the yeaqrs my daughters have had as many as 200 collectible dolls of allkinds. I always liked the baby, baby dolls the best, the ones that looked real. These two cuties are a couple of my collection of baby dolls.I buy outfits for them and dress them up occasionally. The yelloe outfit was homemade and knitted, not by me, but someone did an excellent job. I have had these dolls for years..Now the white, beautifully handsome loveable doggie is "Lincoln", my lasa alpso. He is my love and he is a very good boy. He is very protective of me and listens to my ever command. I say "thanks" to my nice friend who gave him to me. She must have known he was meant for me. He is my "one and only.....Dolls and Doggie", my favorite things..Good Day
