How Could One Puppy Be Such A Mischievious Child
His name is Avery. He is a little brown Vazsla. His breed is more or less a hunting dog, but I think he is a mountain goat. He stands on the back of my tall chair and jumps accross to the bar, where he stands lookin over the room, barking at our red-neck Bahamanian turtle. Avery thinks he is the ruler of the roost. He has investigated every inch of our house, making sure he pulls out every loose thing he can find, and he gets my shoes and chews on them. Also he pulls the clothes out of the hamper, gets everything within his reach and climbs up on the tables to get the rest. He loves his chewy bones and he has hidden one under every chair cushion. He is a very verbal puppy, barking to get his way. He sleeps at the foot of my bed. curls up under the cover and cuddles as if he is the most innocent of all puppies. He looks at me with those cute brown puppy eyes, gives a sigh and goes to sleep. He gets as limber as a rag. You could pick him up and put him in the garbage for all he cares at that time. Sometimes he roots his way behind me and I awaken and am afraid I have stiffled him. Well in the mornings he jumps to the floor the very instant I get up. Using his puppy pad then he follows me every step and as I drink my coffee, sitting at the computer Avery crawls up under my arm and demands attention. So I cover him up while I play my online games and search the web. He actually thinks he is a kid. I expect he may begin to actually talk soon...LOL....I do spank him but he thinks this is a ame. But when he gets too rough, as actually biting me on the arm, I get a fly swat after him..He is afraid of this..thank goodness........He has a doggie brother, Lincoln, a well-mannered Lasa Alphso whom tolerates him but could eat him alive if he wanted to. Avery pulls Lincoln around by his beard and sits on his head. He even puts his whole face in Lincoln's mouth. All in all Avery is a mean lil dog-child. I have allowed him to be tied on the porch and you would think I had dropped him off in China {no offense to China] but He will bark nonstop till I have to let him in. He has never stepped his foot on the ground, but I have taken him in the car. He has a little harness and a red bandana on his neck. I love him so much even if he is a meanie. So that is the update on Avery...............will keep you posted

Making Home-Made Candy
I really love making candies and confections, frosted pecans, black walnut/chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge, divinity, chocolate cherries, pioneer potato candy. Also truffles, candies with jellied centers, marshmellow Easter eggs, brittle butter crunch, coconut kisses, sweet potato candy, macarroon fruit bars, caramel nut bars, peanut brittle, dipped pretzels, lollipops, candy strawberries, pecan logs, taffy, cinnamin rocks,Christmas ribbons, p-nutbutter balls, popcorn crunch, but of all of these my favorite is chocolate fudge with walnuts. I also love to bake pies, cakes and make my own icing, usually 7 minute frosting for the pies, lemon, butterscotch, banana creme, chocolate and my favorite fruit pies are peach, apple , cherry and chocolate. I also love to make breads of all kinds, home-made biscuits, rolls, white bread and muffins, blueberry is my favorite. I love a big, big tall icing on my pies, no scimping here. My hubbie, though makes the best cornbread. I have made chicken-n-dumplings this evening. I still roll them out thin and I make a large amount. The broth is usually very rich and these dumplings are mouth-watering GOOD. Take some time one day and make your favorites..the family will love it and it taste so much better than what you buy. Some of these goodies can be frozen for later use, and some make nice gifts. Did I make you wish for a sweet piece of candy or confection? Sure I did. When you begin to make your goodies, remember to get all your ingredients and take time to enjoy your venture in making home -made candies......Have A Nice Evening

Driving North on U.S. 23
Recently in Pike County we have added several lanes of traffic on u.s. 23 north of Pikeville....the roadthat leads to our business district, mainly Walmart. Well a lot of these people evidently do not know how to drive on more lanes than two. As I start driving north the lanes begin to widen and I know the far left lane is foe turning left or passing when it is safe. The middle lane is for through traffic and the right is for those turning right eventually. The people around here are all over the road, from left to right to right to left, pulling out in front of you, passing from one lane to another. It is so annoying. Also they tend to S.P.E.E.D. I will be going 45 and they will pass going 55 and if I speed up they go as fast as their car will go. I have seen some go 70's and 80's mph. This small stretch of highway is very dangerous and so many have been killed here. There are some very rude drivers also, giving you bad hand gestures and mouthing bad lanuage. Once at these red lights a guy made a esture at another and the guy got out of his car at the light and tried to beat his windows in. Also at Walmart they willpractically run over you if you get to park before someone else. Where did "PATIENCE"go? Good gosh what is the hurry? They are so rude and I try to pay them no mind and give them no eye contact. One evening at dark I was en route to Walmart and was nearing the red light, and out of nowhere a car whipped accross the 4-lane in front of me and my first thought was "Oh my gosh I am going to hit this car". I tried to stop, slamming on the brakes. The car proceeded on accross and booked it right on up the road in front of traffic. How he wasn't killed is beyond me. I called 911 and told them "A MANIAC" was loose on this road. They caught him and he was driving drunk. I was lucky it just busted out my front head lights and scared me. But once again someone had not obeyed the rules and had crossed the highway on a wrong turn-off. So many people are killed this way. I really am a cautious driver and I am quick to react. Soon my grandson will be driving and I really think he will makea very good driver. I have a lot of trust in him. All of my children are good drivers and obey all the rules and do not drink or dissobey the law. If everyone would drive defensively and watch out for the "other guy" they will arrive "alive" and always wearing their seat belts. Once a friend of mine was hit by a drunk, dopehead and is now serving 10 years in the penitentuary. Lucky, though injured, they lived through that, and thankful everyone in her car had on their seat belts. You never know what is up ahead so beware and slow down..it might just make a difference between your life and the life of others.............Well gotta go, happy driving, stay safe and put on those seat belts. Remember those "Blue lights" don't look too pretty when they are pulling up behind you....

Peeping Through The Window
Viewing someone's blog is kind of like peeping through the window. The blogger though knows this when they write. They do not ask to see into the viewer's window. A blog is someone's personal look at life and can be informative, funny, scary or even it may give someone a lift during their day. Blogs should not be full of gossip, should not put anyone down or give info on any particular person or thing. Peeping through someone's window is fun and should be considered appreciative. The viewer can remain anonyomous and the blogger does not have to conversate with them unless they leave a comment. I have no secrets and only write because I have always been a writer. I also have a book of poetry and have published dozens. It runs in the family. Hope my blogs are fun to you and I will continue with them as the mood strikes. Remember if you are reading these blogs to spread gossip or just want to peep through the window, the choice is yours....Remember we are all human and we tend to see things differently and we comphrehend things differently so have fun and be nice and stay cool............Geepers..Creepers..where'd you get them peepers..lol

Bills Bills Bills
So many bills. Our electricity bill has almost doubled, my insurance is not as cheap as that little lizard says it could be, my car pym. is a doozy and our gas bill is not low. The price of food has raised. The smallest bag of chips has risen to $1.29 and there are about 6 chips in there. Gas goes up and down, and even my tv bill has risen. Stimulus check.....bring it on..Obama. I need new tires. For entertainment the kids want new x-box live games, movies, new clothes, new skateboards, eating out...it is no wonder this country is going bankrupt. Everyone gets everything they want without thinking. Credit cards consumed, buying things to keep up with the Joneses. The Joneses are going bankrupt too. It will run its course, of course. I like nice things and I want the kids to have good things too, but they need to learn the value of money. When we keep catering to them , we are setting them up for a let-down when they are adults. Then they will see how hard it is to keep a dollar. I have been actually planning meals at home, though my grandson rarely eats it, unless it is something he wants, I have enjoyed having a good home-cooked meal. It is cheaper and I like it better. This food out in these fast food chains are a poor excuse for a meal. Children are getting so used tothis they donot like home cooking. When I was growing up, we had no choice but to eat what was on the table, take it or leave it. We usually finished our plates. With our economy the way it is, we should watch the way we spend our money and spend more time with the kids and sit around a dinner table and chat about your day. We might get to know each other a little better. I see people driving and eating burgers and slurping milk shakes and chattin on a cell phone all at the same time. Sometimes they come at me on the road. I usually give them "th horn". My grandson gives them more but he is a young teen. They do not hear what he really is saying about them..Our forefathers would flipover if they could see what a mess we have gotten ourselves in,eating on the run, speaking a couple of words a day to our kids and allowin them to play vicious games, as if it is the norm. Kids should be rewarded only after they have cleaned up their rooms, been helpful around the house, have kept their smart mouth to a minimun. Then they will appreciate going to a movie or buying that expensive game. Today they do not know the worth of a dollar. Oh well, everyone, just keep on trucking and remember to pay your bills. When you leave the arrears they tend to multiply too quickly. Eat in and enjoy your family. Take care and have a nice day, courtesy of this all American bill payer

A Rose For A Young Love
As I waited for my grandson to go inside the floral to buy his first rose for his sweetie, a beautiful little girl he has been seeing for 6 months, I couldn't help but notice the gentlemen coming out with flowers. Some had red roses, some had yellow, some had a mixture of spring flowers, some had candy boxes and roses, and I noticed the ages of the men. Some were 20's, some were 30's, 40's, 50+, etc. One very elderly man was barely walking and carrying a beautiful bunch of roses. I suppose he had bought many flowers over the years. All of these men had a special heart in mind. My grandson also had a special heart in mind and he bought his first rose and a fluffy dogie and a candle and a card. Of course the card stated, along with love that there is not another rose on the planet just like this rose and not another like himself..A good way to put it. He had a little brother go to her door and present this to her and he told him to tell her "This is compliments from.."T Daddy. She smiled and accepted. Young love is sweet and simple, uncomplicated and pure. These other men coming out with the roses probably have a story to tell, but nevertheless they walked proudly along with their roses. How great it is to be someone's Valentine. Send your love to someone today . Happy Valentine's Day 2009
